Cairo, September 2025:
Elsewedy EDTech and Pearson signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to become official partners in Egypt. They will collaborate to expand vocational and skills-focused education across the country. Moreover, the partnership aims to place practical, employer-aligned qualifications within reach of learners nationwide.
«ELSEWEDY» to deliver BTEC and Higher National programmes
Elsewedy EDTech will deliver Pearson’s BTEC and Higher National qualifications in its education centres. These qualifications emphasize applied, hands-on learning. Consequently, students can enter employment directly or continue to higher education. In addition, the programmes align content with employer and government needs.
Course scope and priority sectors
Courses will cover Engineering, Construction, and Health & Social Care at several levels. Furthermore, the MoU opens the door to testing services such as PTE and VUE. Also, partners plan to pilot AI-powered assessments and career-focused pathways.
Broader framework: regional talent pipelines and scaling
The MoU establishes a wider framework for further collaboration across secondary, technical, and higher education. Therefore, partners will explore industry-aligned education models. In turn, this supports regional talent pipelines and positions Egypt as a hub for skills-based education.
Signing ceremony and leadership remarks
The signing took place at Elsewedy Electric headquarters. Eng. Ahmed Elsewedy, President & CEO of Elsewedy Electric, attended. He said, “This strategic partnership with Pearson accelerates our mission to deliver regional education services. By combining regional market insight with world-class expertise, we build a skills ecosystem that links learning to employment.”
Jane Baker, Vice President for UK and International BTECs and Higher Nationals at Pearson, added: “We are proud to support ELSEWEDY EDTech’s goals for project-led, skills-based education across Egypt and the region.”
