Emirates NBD – Egypt Signs Cooperation Agreement with Elsewedy Technical Academy to Implement Training for Employment Program for Youth
● Amgad Doma: Providing and developing innovative training programs in collaboration with Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA)to support the employability of Egyptian youth.
● The program targets youth between 18 and 35 years old in the governorates of Greater Cairo, Suez, and the 10th of Ramadan city.
Cairo, Egypt – 27th September 2023: As part of its social responsibility and strong belief in the role of youth in boosting development efforts, Emirates NBD – Egypt has signed cooperation agreement with Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) which is affiliated to Elsewedy Electric Foundation (Non-profit Organization), to implement training for employment program (T4E), with the aim of training the Egyptian youth and developing their abilities and skills in line with the requirements of current and future jobs. This initiative originates from Emirates NBD – Egypt’s strong belief and support of sustainable development goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Dr. Amgad Doma, Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer at Emirates NBD – Egypt, and Mrs. Hanan El-rihany, CEO of Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) and General Secretary of Elsewedy Electric Foundation signed the cooperation agreement.
Dr. Amgad Doma, Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer at Emirates NBD – Egypt, said: “The training for employment program (T4E) comes as part of the efforts of Emirates NBD – Egypt in cooperation with Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA), as they have an experience of more than 10 years in Technical Education & Training, to provide and develop innovative training programs to support the employment of Egyptian youth. These programs are designed, developed, and implemented in collaboration with the industrial partners of the Academy to help youth develop their technical skills in light of the requirements of the labor market in various fields.”
He added: “The training program supports the development of young trainees’ abilities in the fields of personal skills, information technology, health, safety and environment skills, along with the linguistic and technical skills in various governorates. It also gives them the availability to obtain job opportunities after developing their abilities in various fields.”
The program targets young men and women between the ages of 18 and 35 from the governorates of Greater Cairo, Suez, and the 10th of Ramadan city. The collaboration in implementing such training programs guarantees a rise in employment rates of up to 85%.
Mrs. Hanan El-Rihany, CEO of Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) and General Secretary of Elsewedy Electric Foundation, stated: ” We are glad with our collaboration with Emirates NBD Egypt and we always seek to provide all opportunities for Egyptian youth to develop their personal and practical skills. It is expected that the training courses will be determined according to the methodology of Elsewedy Technical Academy STA after monitoring the current market needs. This training program aims to boost the employability potential of the youth through equipping them with Soft skills, IT skills, HSE skills, Language skills, financial literacy and Technical skills to allow the beneficiaries to join the partnering companies and successfully enter the job market according to the cooperation agreement signed with Emirates NBD – Egypt with the aim of developing and implementing practical trainings to ensure the best match with job opportunities”.
