Dubai 06 Aug 2025:
Fusepay has raised $350,000 in pre-seed funding to build modern finance and payments for underserved Indian Ocean islands, starting with Seychelles.
This funding marks a key milestone in our journey to become a licensed Payment Service Provider (PSP) in Seychelles and help businesses save money, save time, and prevent fraud. We’re replacing cheques, manual transfers, and cash heavy operations with a smarter, faster, and more secure platform
Who Backed Us
We’re proud to be backed by a group of global early stage investors who believe in our vision to build from the ground up for island economies and other frontier emerging markets. Our pre-seed round was led by:
Hustle Fund
Everywhere Ventures
First Check Ventures
Startup Istanbul
Angel investor Ryan Nesbitt
These investors have supported hundreds of startups globally, and we’re grateful they see long term potential in Fusepay’s mission.
The Fusepay Team
Fusepay was co-founded by Vidhyasahar Thiyagarajan and Francesco Rocchi in June 2024 as a Delaware C Corp, after personally experiencing payment challenges while helping their families run retail and wholesale businesses.
Vidhyasahar is a product designer by background. He previously led design at YC backed fintech Alaan in the UAE and has worked with startups and billion dollar companies globally.
Francesco is a software developer who co-founded a software development agency in Seychelles, working with early stage companies.
Fusepay is now a team of 10 including engineers, designers, and finance professionals with experience at Intel, Goldman Sachs, and other global companies.
What’s Next
With this funding, we’ve secured our Payment Service Provider (PSP) license in Seychelles and are completing the final compliance requirements with the Central Bank of Seychelles.
We’re preparing to launch in August 2025 with our B2B Invoice payment platform, helping businesses manage accounts payable and receivable on top of our mobile money rail.
Our flagship product, FuseCheq, enables secure, post dated payments for retail and wholesale businesses, replacing physical cheques which are being phased out by the government. FuseCheq is designed to offer digital convenience with full traceability and reduced operational friction.
